Vélez-Málaga, the eastern capital of the Costa Del Sol, is divided into several areas, notably Vélez-Málaga, which lies inland, and Torre del Mar and Caleta de Velez, on the Coast.
The winding Moslem streets of the old town, along with the Valle-Niza Mozarabic Hermitage, the Phoenician Urban Complex of Los Tascanos and the Cerro de Mar Cemetary and Gardens make up the legacy bequeathed by the various civilizations which inhabited the town.
Special Mention must be made of the craftmanship, music and excellent cuisine of Phoenician and Arabic origin, as well as the ample recreational options available during the summer months.
